Referring to the “Times” statement about placing Australian naval forces at the disposal of tho Admiralty, the Minister of Defence stated that cables were sent to the. Admiralty a few days ago setting out the basis of agreement or control of tho local navj. Publication of a portion of the proposals may indicate that the Admiia.ity has decided to accept them in that particular regard, hut until tho w hole agreement is made public by tho Admiralty he cannot disclose the terms.
