AN ARREST IN QUEENSLAND. FOR CRIAIE FOURTEEN YEARS AGO IN SOUTH AFRICA.. United Press Association— Copyright (Received April 19, 1.25 a.m.) BRISBANE, April 18. An elderly man named McLaughlin lias been arrested and charged with the murder of two men, named Stevenson and Mustaffa, at Johannesburg, in January, 1895. He- has lieeu remanded. pending the arrival of a Transvaal officer. The accused states that he and some mates were “shelved” from then billets by tlie deceased, but declares that he had nothing to do with the murder, though blamed for it.
