MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
THE NOMINATIONS. The nominations for the office of Mayor and nine Borough Councillors for Gisborne closed with the Returning Officer (Mr. H. 01. Porter) at noon yesterday. Two candidates were nominated foil the Mayoralty, Mr. W. D. Lysnar (the present Mayor), and Mr. W. Miller; -while twenty candidates were - nominated for seats upon the Council. All the retiring councillors, with the exception of Dr. J. W. Williams, Messrs. T. H. Mann and J. W. Bright are again in the field, while there are fourteen new candidates.
