TO-DAY’S - MATCHES

The following will represent Kia Kaha Hockey Club in their match against West End this afternoon, at 2 o’clock: Hamilton, Knibb, Grieve, McLean, Co.wlrick, Morso, Rogers, ( Coleman, Thomas, Carmody, and Somervell. The following will represent the City Hockey Club in their match against the Y M.C.A. Club this afternoon : Cockerill Friar, Nicholas, Corbett, Fox, Bull, Taigcl, Brady, J. Doyle, Gunn, and Day ; emergencies, Dawson and Armstrong... POVERTY BAY HOCKEY ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the "Hockey Association was held last evening in the Royal Hotel at 8 o’clock, a full number ot delegates being present. The President, Mr. G. K. Pasley, occupied the chair. It was decided to.write to the Rugby Union with a yiew of obtaining the use of the Domain for the incoming season. A practice match will bo held tins afternoon, and it -is intended to open the hockey season on the 29th inst,, with a seven-a-side tournament, - Y.M.C.A. . A meeting of members of the Y.M.C.A. Hockey Club was" held in the Association rooms last evening, Mr. E. H. Mann presiding. A letter . was received from the secretary of the Povei-ty Bay Hockey Association, stating that the application of the Y M.C.A. Club for affiliation with the Association had been received and acceded to, and stating that- tho affiliation fee was £2 2s. It was decided that one Thursday

Auld reported that a sample of the Wellington Association’s jersey had been received, and it was decided to adopt them for the Gisborne Association,. the colors being amber, black, and maroon, .with black knickers. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair. The following will represent the Y.M.C.A. Hockey Club in a practice match against the Civil Servants’ Club this afternoon: Rewai, Mill, Ngira, Clark, Munro, Pine, Grant, Baker, Russell, and Auld; emergencies, Cotton and P.atihana. The Civil Servants’ team will be chosen from the following: Mulviliill, Barker, Bousficld, Maher, Scott, Rudman, Rutherford, Stagpoole Hargreaves, Sissons, Payne, Little, and Bristow.
