The Norwegian ship Maletta had an exciting time in the ico twelve days after leaving La Plata. She ran into an ice floe, and sailed through icestrewn seas for 343 miles. Many bergs were so high that they took the wind from the vessel’s sails, and she narrowly escaped being crushed. A dense fog prevailed all the time.
