THOUSANDS CLAMORING FOR BREAD. THE BRITISH RESIDENTS UNABLE TO LEAVE. United Press Association —Copyright TEHERAN, April 20. Thousands of women and children at Tabriz are clamoring for bread. British residents have cabled to Sir Edward Gray, Minister for Foreign Affairs, stating that "there is imminent danger of attack, and owing to the desperate situation it is impossible to leave. The consular guard is inadequate to protect us.”

A MISSIONARY KILLED

(Received April 21. 11.55 p.m.) TEHERAN, April 21

Iu consequence of British and Russian representations, the Shah has granted a .week’s armistice at Tabriz, in order to prevent the hunger-stricken elements from attacking the consulates. The armistice had such good effect locally that an order given at Sir Edward Grey’s instance for a Russian force- to occupy Tabriz has been suspended.

Mr. Baskerville, an American missionary, was previously killed in a Nationalist'.sortie to seize the enemy’s bread.
