The “bears” pressed their advantage, emphasising that weak foreign markets evidenced no world-wide shortage. Rapid sales at a loss ensued. Four houses sold an aggregate of seven million bushels. Patton has left Chicago. Many ruined brokers are denouncing him as a coward. OTTAWA, April 23. % Canadian statistics shew that, there are seven million bushels oi wheat in the elevators at Fort William and five millions in farmers’ hands, both ns a balance or the 1908 crop. This has upset Patten’s calculation's, and the corner is’ apparently smashed.
