NOT UNDERSTOOD.
[To The Editor.] Sir, —Mr. Lysnar complains that be is “not understood” —that any person, ho lie a member of Parliament, a Borough or County Councillor, member of the "Harbor Board, a ratepayer, a Magistrate, or even a Judge of the 'Supreme Court, who may differ from him, is not only his bitter opponent but also liis enemy for tlie simple reason that not one of them has. either brains or intelligence sufficient to understand ‘him. The promises lie made at meetings when lie was returned at Mayor have not been carried out by him, therefore he is “not understood. Whenever he made a promise which he did not see fit to keep, the reason is that his nroiviise was •’■not understood. . After the ensuing election, he will assert that his defeat was owing to the fact that lie was “not understood.” In the interests or Gisborne it is to be hoped the ratepayers will elect a gentleman as Mayor who will lie understood and who will understand liis duties.—l am, etc., _____ ~ “AN EX-LYSN ARITE.”
