The Judge, summing up in Tom Mann’s case, said that Mann’s speeches were materially against him, for they showed that he was at all times prepared to offer resistance to the police. The jury, after five hours’ deliberation, returned a verdict of not guilty. MANN’S ADDRESS AFTER ACQUITTAL/ A VIOLENT SPEECH. (Received April) 29, 10 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 29. Tom Mann addressed the ' crowd shortly after his acquittal. He said Tic would not have whimpered if he had got five years for the job. They were released from man’s oppression, and, by tlie God that made tliefn, ‘they would let the capitalist crowd know it in future.
