MONTHLY MEDAL COMPETITION
There was a large muster of players at the Poverty Bay Golf Club’s links on Saturday afternoon. The first monthly medal competition figured on the card, and -provided an interesting contest. Despite the heavy rain of the past week, the links were in good order. The following were the best cards handed in : - F. H. W. Traill, 92—scr—92;'H. J. Thodev, 107—15—92; .L. T. Brown, 112-20—92; G. Smith, 112-16-96; W F. J. "Anderson. 114 —18—96; R. Barker, 106—9—97; B. Moore-Sampson, 108— H—97: J. H. Bull, 99-ecr-99 ;W. RBarker, 107—6—101; E. A. Adair, 113 —l2—lol. ' „ „ , v There were a fair number of ladies on the links, and afteroon tea was provided by Mrs. Morgan and Miss Nolan. On Thursday next tho ladies will play an IS-hole round to qualify for their handicaps for the L.G.U. meda.s-. the rounds must be played to enable players to compete for these prizes- There are two medals, one each for A a and B. s.
