RESCUE FROM DROWNING AT NAPIER. [Per. Press Association.] "XAPIER.. Mav\ 1. There was a sensational incident at the breakwater at midday to-day. Two youths. Harold Fuuke, son of the manager of the Hawke’s Bay Soap and Tannery Oo.’s works, Awatoto, and Ins cousin,-Bert Jones, a visitor from One-lumo-a. were photographing a heavy a wave lifted them off thenfeet. They drifted some distance, but fortunately were able to swim. dames Tonkin, ah employee of the. Ferro-Con-crete Company, plunged into the rescue with a line and plank, and through Ins gallantry both youths were, saved. Jones was pretty well exhausted, but quickly recovered. Furike is to be commended .for the manner he kept by his cousin dn the .emergency. I M : , .'. .
