BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.

Some people plead for the reintroduction of the Bible as “literature.” It certainly is a pity that a book to the contents of which all other literature makes so many allusions,, is tabooed for the schools, and perhaps if someone were to prepare “as literature” a selection of passages which would cover the more- important of these allusions, there might not be much opposition raised to such passages being used, say, in“the pamphlet “School Journal,” as additional reading matter. This would mot satisfy the Bible-in-Schools League, but the .members or© not likely to he satisfied by getting more. —“Timaru Herald.”
