-PARIS, May 2. May Day celebrations in France and Belgium passed off quietly.

The cessation of work was widespread, but not general. It is estimated that 21,000 persons participated in the annual demonstration at Paris, which, was marked by occasional disorder.

About 300 telegraph wires were cut. Sanilazare, an Anarchist from Buenos Aires, provoked a riot, in which 12 persons were killed and 100 were injured.
