TE K-YEAKA—ORMOND ROAD RACE.
The first heat of the cycle road race from Te Karaka to Ormond and back was got off vesterday, and was won by R. . Graham," with F. Hawkins and E. Gardiner second and third respectively. Hosier finished fourth, and made the fastest time, llir imin Ofsec. ' _ The second heat of the race wi.l he
run on Thursday next, and tho final on Empire Day, May 24th. Quite a contingent of competitors went out from town, to Te Ivaraka, then took part in the race and rode homo again from Te Ivaraka. Unfortunately, after their 90-mile ride they were oyertaken by the heavy rain just before 7 o’clock, "while passing Matawhero, and got wet through.
