J C AVI ELI AM SON'S ROYAL COMIC OPERA CO.

The recent Wellington season oi tins ompanv has fully upheld the uor.d s verdict' on those three remarkably musical plays. “The -Merry Miaou, he Dairymaids.” and The Girls oi Gotteuberg.” Tire first named has been produced in every civilised country and in almost every known language with unvarying success, and is now in the second year of it a c-ensa-tional triumph at Daly’s, Theatre, London. “The Dairymaids”’ comes to us with the reputation of being one of the few assured successes of the London lvric stage : the book is written bj the author of the “Blue Moon” and Mr IF Courtneidge,. and they have proved themselves excellent judges of what the public wants. “The Girls oi uottenberg” is a famous London Gaiety success? rich in graceful, sparkling music, quaint original melody, color, and gaiety. To satisfactorily present these attractions in accord with the best traditions of Mr. J. C. Williamson s Royal Comic Opera Company, that famous combination lias been greatly strengthened and augmented in all departments by some special engagements including- Air. Andrew ITigginson, a young and highly gifted English baritone, who lias created a sensation throughout Australia by his graceful and polished interpretation of the difficult role of Prince Danilo in “The Merry Widow.” Amongst the old favorites are Miss Florence Young, the popular dramatic soprano and charming actress, and Mr. Reginald Roberts, the ever popular tenor. The cast also includes such names as Air. Victor Gouriot, the clever comedian, Messrs AY. S. Percy, C. R. Bantock. I). B. O’Connor, and other favorites. Miss Nellie Wilson is another clever and charming actress who will he favorably remembered, also Miss Marie Nash. Miss Connie Milne, Miss Alma . Vaughan, and Miss Georgia Musgrove. Australia’s popular actress and dainty dancer. Miss Fanny Dailgo, Trill also make her first appearance. The! costumes and stage mountings are said to be a revelation of the splendour to which these features of theatrical production can attain. Box plans for these three productions will bo* opened at Mr. W. Miller’s to-morrow (Saturday) morning. CLEMENT L. AYR AG GIL Much interest is being displayed in the approaching visit to this town of Clement L. Wragge, the much travelled astronomer and Jnetoorologist, who appears here on A lon day evening next at His Majesty's Theatre. His first subject will be “A Voyage Through the Universe,” as given at the Town Hall, Wellington, recently. During the course of the evening one learns that there are few places that Mr. AATagge has not visited, and he possesses the happy faculty of picturing, in lucid and flowing language, the places visited. He will also show some absolutely new and beautifully colored slides from photographs taken in the South Polar regions by the photographer to the recent expedition and some views of that restless giant Ngarualioe. “Radium” is another novelty which Mr. Wragge will introduce. Reserved seats- may now bo obtained at Mr. Miller’s.
