ATTEMPTED MURDER OF A WOMAN. [Per Press Association.] \ CHRISTCHURCH, May 7. On Thursday night a woman named Sarah Falloon, living in Creyke Street, 'J|Linwood. was the victim of a serious assault. Two men went to her house. ! f • and accused her of being a police spy. After a few words one man took up a kettle and hit the woman on the breastwhile the other knocked her down with ;■ % a flat-iron. The two then jumped oil the woman. Then finding-a gun tp. house they loaded it and fired it at tbeu woman, but missed her, the shot enter* * ing the wall.
