NEW PLYMOUTH, May t. Lord Piunket to-day unveiled the Marsland Hill memorial, a handsome marble monument erected on the historic eminence in the town jn memory, of the Imperial troops, naval men, colonial militia'and friendly uaxive-s who fell during the Maori war. lb© weather was dull, but the ceremony was carried out before a very large a tendance of veterans of the war, cadets and the general public.. Tdie monument is 30 feet high ,of Hahan marble, erected on an eminence overlooking the town. It cost about £BOO.
