TYPOGRAPHICAL DISPUTE.
AN AMICABLE AGREEMENT

IXVERCWKGItX, May 7. Air. J. R. Triggs. Conciliation Commissioner for the South island, presided to-dav over a conference of delegates representing employers and em- - ployeos in the typographical dispute. The deliberations resulted in an cable agreement without recourse to the Arbitration Court. Tbe agreement? is based on the Otago award. The. chief alterations are:—Wages: Compositors. £3 for day work and £3 5s for night work; linotype operators. £3 3s for day work and £3 I2s for night work; monoline operators, £3 for day: work aud £3 6s for night work. Lessen rates wore fixed for the country offices. The agreement remains in force until 31st December. 7.911. Air. Triggs complimented the employers and employees., on the very friendly relations existing.
