Dr Richard Arthur, of Sydney, had an hour and a quarter’s interview with Mr John Burns, President of the Local Government Board, who was sympathetic and ready to receive a deputation to suggest methods whereby Britain might assist emigration to Australia.
Mr Burns considers the colonies should bear the cost of the transport of a youth if Britain raises the manhood and loses his future,,economic value.
