THE' SUGAR COMPANY SCANDAL. MANY ARRESTS MADE. y United Press Association —Copyright (Received May 10, 10.25 p.m.) ' ’ TOICIO, May 10. In connection with the! sugar scanjdals at Tokio, many arrests have been, made. The sugar company spent 120,‘OOO yen in bribing fifty deputies to secure its nationalisation. It is improbable that the Constitutional party, which controls a majority in the Diet, rally from the blow. The public applaud the Government’s energy, and believe that the exposure will have a salutary effect in commercial circles.
