FAINT HOPES ENTERTAINED FOR . “ THE TWO YOUNG MEN.

NELSON, May 10. ■ • ; The/search for Mr. G. W. Lightband afid the lad Harry Jackson, who are missing, from a. Canadian, canoe at: Rabbit Island; was continued unremittingly yesterday. On 'Thursday a partly submerged canoe was seen by some persons who were sailing in a boat, but they were unable to approach it owing to the wind and flood. This canoe is no longer visible,■ and is still untraced. A slouch hat of Liglitband’s an unmarked handkerchief, a holt with tile name of H. DO; Jackson on it, and four loavesof bread in a sack, near where the canoe w T as seeu, have been found, but here, is uo other trace.* It is uoav feared h fatality has occurred, aild the , faintest hopes only are entertained. / . , ,
