MAN FALLS OVER CLIFF.
UNAVAILING SEARCH MADE.

i TAIHAPE, May 11. Information .was received by the police here this morning that Patrick Riley, single, aged 24, a navvy, working at Kawatau, near Mangaweka, while riding last night with two mates to the camp, disappeared over a cliff into the river. Riley rode behind the others, who received the first intimation of the loss of tlioir comrade by his riderless horse joining them. Tho men went budk and heard Riley call out from the river, but could not get to him, owing to tho high cliff. They went to'the police for assistance. A search was promptly instituted, but was unavailing. It was renewed at daybreak, and has : .so far been without result.
