The news which we published thattho Hon. W. P. Reeves has become a Director of the National Bank natui* ally recalls the time when in liis younger and more impetuous days, he cherished socialistic ideas, and was looked upon as a somewhat dangerous person by those who owned proporty which might be attacked by legislation. Like many others who were fervent Radica.s in' the days of their youth, Mr Reeves, with increasing years and. experience, has greatly moderated his views.
