CHRISTCHURCH, May 13. The High Commissioner, writing to the Prime Minister regarding _ the Dreadnought offer, states: “I tliui'K I am right in saying that addition ah ships are required. During the debate! on Air. Balfour’s - -no-confidence motion there was- no reference to the twoPower standard, but reference was made to the necessity of a one-Power standard. With the - exception of Mr. Keir Hardie and one or two others, voiir action “was eulogised by- air sorts and conditions of people. One . lady occupying a high position .informed me that when she saw your noble offer she broke into tears.”. . ", Sir Joseph Ward received a - very large number of letters’ from Great Britain* in 'which the writers praise, him and the Government lor their offer.
