TH E~ B URNS-JOHNSOX PICTURES,

A final reminder is given that the biograph pictures of the Burns-Johnson struggle will be exhibited in His Majesty’s Theatre for two nights, commencing tin's evening. Much praise has been lavished on the pictures, which are said to be particularly life-like and vivid. Boxing Day in Sydney was an ideal day for the biograph men, and four cameras were on hand, so that not even the smallest incident was missed. Every one of the fourteen rounds, including “corner spells” in included in the series. Enormous audiences have attended the pictures wherever they have been shown, including a large number of ladies. Nothing has been left undone to secure a perfect reproduction, and patrons are assured that they will find no cause for complaint. COMPLIMENTARY CONCERT. It is anticipated that the complimentary concert to be tendered to Miss Mdlhone op Friday next will be one of the most successful and enjoyable musical entertainments ever given in Gisborne, for a programme of undeniable excellence is assured. Madame Casier, the well-known Auek’and soprano. is to arrive here on Wednesday. To Rangi Pai, ever ready to lend the aid of her fine contralto voice for a worthy object, has consented to take part in the programme. Mrs. Phil. Barry has likewise promised to assist, and so also have Messrs Johnston Brown. Lewis, Brownlee, P. Adair, Teat, Grieve, and Grimslmw. The accompanists will be Miss Mcllhonc herself, Mesdames Foster and Brownlee, and Messrs Sidebottom and Gittos. There is to be an orchestra of eighty eeu instrumentalists, under the direction of Mr. M. L. Foster, and a brass band of 30 performers under the baton of Mr. A. E. Lawrence. Tickets may be obtained at the establishments of Messrs W. Miller, Chrisp, and Gittos.
