Mr. Asquith said ho approved of. the opening of the Lord Chancellorship and tho Irish Vice-Royalty to Catholics. The Sovereign’s accession declaration ho considered tho flimsiest and most unnecessary safeguard. He suggested the appointment of a committee to find a form of declaration inoffensive to any religious susceptibilities.
