British newspapers welcome the Emperor Francis Josef’s incidental chivalrous acknowledgment, during the recent speeches at Vienna, that all the Powers recently united in a sinceio endeavor to maintain peace, thus confirming Sir Edward Grey’s declaration.
VIENNA, May 17
The newspaper “Femdenblatt” remarks that the Triple Alliance'is peace.
BERLIN, May 17.
The “North German Gazette” declares that any attempt to make the Triple Alliance serve aggressive purposes must inevitably lead to its relaxation and eventual dissolution.
