The House of Commons, by 204 to 104, accepted the Lords’ amendment to the Indian Councils Bill. GALE IN NEW SOUTH WALES. SYDNEY, May 20. A stiff south-westerly gale prevails, with heavy seas. A satisfactory demonstration of the automatic stamping machine in use in New Zealand has been given in the Chamber of Commerce. The Federal Government intend to adopt the machine.
THE .PRESS’ DELEGATES IN CANADA. > OTTAWA, May 20. The Press Conference delegates were tho guests of the civic authorities at Ottawa, ,and lunched at tho Parliament buildings. Earl Grey (GovernorGeneral) entertained them at dinner in the the evening. Everywhere they received an ovation.
