CHRISTCHURCH, May 21. Mr Robt. McNab addressed an audience which completely filled the Choral Hall to-night, on the question of the defence of the Dominion, in the com sc of which he advocated universal military training. He was listened to attentively throughout, and frcquentl} applauded. At the conclusion there was continuous applause and cbeeis. speaker did not submit a motion to -yor (Mr. C. Allison) presided, antl on the platform were a number of - o*l Councillors, and prominent lolunteo officers. THE QUESTION IN WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, May 24. About fifty persons opposed to compulsory military training decided tonight to held a, public meeting m t - Town Hall to; voice the feeling of thos SJ who are opposed to the movement.
