So far as Mr. Harle Giles is concerned the settlement of the butchers’ dispute is a complete and conclusive reply to the virulent attacks to which he was exposed before he had the chance of proving his capacity. It must have been very consoling to the Commissioner to hear a vote of thanks moved for his patient and untiring efforts to settle the difficulty, and we congratulate him heartily upon tlic recognition that his valuable services have now at last secured.—“ Auckland Star.”
