SYDNEY, May 25
The Synod has fixed the Archbishop’s salary and allowances at £2500. It is now discussing the appointment of a successor to the late Archbishop. The Synod, after discussing several proposals, decided to elect the Archbishop by a direct method.

The following have been .nominated for the. Archbishopric of Sydney : Archdeacon Wright (Manchester), Dr. Thomas (Oxford), Bishop Donaldson (Brisbane), Bishop Stretch (Newcastle), ArchdeadoilCrossley (Melbourne), Canon Alexander (St. Paul’s, London), Rev. J. Willink (Yarmouth), Rev. Webster (Rector of Birmingham). The election will take place to-morrow.
