AUCKLAND, May 27. Alfred Brewer, alias C. Anderson, was sentenced to two years for forgery and uttering. Jas. King, for receiving stolen goods, was sentenced to two yCar& * DUNEDIN, May 27. . At the criminal sittings to-day, Thomas O’Donnell was sentenced to ten vears’ imprisonment for assaulting a yovuitr <rirl. Thomas Fairlie Morris Was placed on probation for twelve months for theft. James Pollock was sentenced to twelve months tor tlictt from the person. Thomas Hussey was sentenced to 18 months for assault and robberv. John Edward Blomquist was given 18 months for stealing a bicycle. Robert Burgess and Thomas McLernon received three years each for robbery from the person, and Patrick Monarty two years for indecent assault. Thos. McGrath, for injuring cattle by sliootinrr n t them with a pea rifle, was placed oil probation for two vears, during which period he was to remain in the Salvation Armv Home at .Christchurch. The jury failed to agree in the case or Ellen Marion Edwards, charged with breaking and! entering.
