TE KARAKA COMPLAINTS.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —I see bv your report of the meeting of the "Waikohu Ooumy Council that a deputation waited upon our worthy Councillors re some of our wants’in this flourishing township, bo far from being behind the times, in some respects we are well in advance. For instance, our railway station, post office, and officials are a credit- to ant community. We have a dahy de.iyery of our letters, and pillar postbox m a central part of the townsnip. which cleared twice daily: an advantage that Whataupoko and Haiti were without for many years. TVe certainly require a better telephone communication than we now enjoy. In fact, we are worse off than most parts of the Dominion on that score, as our single wire does duty xor several outlying districts, and one' sometimes has to wait several hours before getting a turn, there being no evening service, which in tne case of importance is very exasperating. I therefore hope that the powers that be mav grant some of our requests, hut to please- all will he outside the question. —I am, etc., _ TE KARAKA RESIDENT.
