AN AUSTRALIAN SCARE.
ALLEGED PRESENCE OF RUSSIAN ANARCHISTS. POLICE KNOW NOTHING OF THE MATTER. United Press Association —Copyright (Received June 1, 9.20 p.m.) MELBOURNE, June 1. An authority on Russia complains of the presence of anarchists in Australia, attracted by the freedom and liberty they enjoy. He declares that several terrorists of the worst kind have been allowed to enter, and that when hero they appear to lose their habits of defiance to authority. He alleges that some bombs recently used in Australia were the work of these terrorists. The head of the Criminal Investigation Department is unaware of the presence of any dangerous anarchists. There might be political offenders here, but provided they kept quiet, ' lie had no means of knowing it, as there is no communication between the Victorian and Russian police. He knew nothing about the manufacture of bombs.
