COURSING.
POVERTY BAY COURSING CLUB. OPENING MEETING. The newly-formed Poverty Bay Coursing Club will hold their first meeting on the Park Racecourse plumpton enclosure to-day and to-mor-row, and excellent sport will be provided. Bookmakers will be licensed, a band will be in attendance, and afternoon tea and luncheon will be obtainable on the grounds. The judge (Air. Lopdell) arrived from Hawke’s Bay by the Maitai last evening. The contest for the Poverty Bav Maiden Stakes will commence at 11.30 o’clock this morning, but the official opening will take place at half-past- 12. The following are the acceptances and draw for the Poverty Bay Ala idea POVERTY BAY MAIDEN STAKES, of £SO. For an unlimited number of dogs l and bitches that have not won more than £5 (cash or trophy) in any one stake. First dow• £o(J, and silver cup: runner-up £8; and £l2 divided between six dogs.
