A FRUITLESS QUEST
THE TERAWHITES SEARCH FOR THE WOOTTON. [Pick Pitrcss Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, June 7. The Union Company’s tug Tcrawhiti, which left Wellington on Friday afternoon, and zig-zagged down_ the coast 'in search of the steamer Wootton arrived at Lyttelton at t o clock last night. ' The tug left Wellington at the same time as the Wootton was reported at Lyttelton Heads, and consequently too late to b© recalled. After haL-an-hour’s stay in port, the vessel left on her return to Wellington. The services of the tug were obtained by the Kaiapoi Trading Company at the rate of £5 an hour.
