TESTIMONIES TO HER WORTH. [Per Press Association.] NAPIER, June 7. Air. G. P. Donnelly, Airs. Perry, and the relatives of the late Airs- Donnelly are receiving a large number of messages of condolence. mis Excellency the. Governor telegraphed as follows:“In Airs. Donnellys death the Alaori people have lost a noble example of a wise and true friend. I desire to offer to you and to the members of her tribe 'my respectful sympathy.” The following telegram was received from the Prime Minister: “Lady Ward and I have read with deepest regret in the ‘Times’ this morning of the death of your dear wife, and we tender to vou our sincere sympathy in what we know to be an irreparable loss. AIL whose pleasure it was to be acquainted with Airs. Donnelly realised that she was a lady in every sense of the word. Apart from the great loss to yourself and family, the members or her own race have lost a good and kind, friend. Aly regret- is that at present I cannot, on account of public engagements, come up to show you and your family mv respects personally.” ‘The Hou. James Carroll, Native Minister. in the course of his message toAir. Donnelly, said: “Arini’s death is not only a great- blow to yourself and Airs. Perry, but is a momentous event in the history of the Alaori people. As the representative of a noble line and. ancestry,-she has maintained its highest traditions.” Air. Carroll also boro testimony to the deceased s efforts on behalf of Alaori people and to her energy and public spiritedness.
