The plans of the new Post Office at Wellington have been considerably modified, says the “Evening Post,’* and fresh tenders are. to he invited for the carrying out- of the work. One storey has been taken off. The fittings will also be on a less elaborate scale. The building will bo of the steel frame type, proof against a pretty severe earthquake, and the ’heavy concrete foundations go right through tho reclaimed land and the sand «f the old harboc bottom to the solid blue clay reef.
