A Press Association telegram from, Christchurch states that Mr. Blackmore, Government pomologist in theSouth Island, has. been notified that ho will be retired on the 31st- of August on a pension. He was one of the first* of the two experts appointed by the Department of Agriculture, the other being Air. Palmer. Air. Blackniore has boon sixteen years in the Department. A Press: Association telegram from Wellington states that Mr. C. Aiac’kie, the London representative of the National Dairy Association of New Zealand, arrived by the lonic lost night. He will attend the annual meeting of the National Dairy Association at Palmerston North next week. At a special meeting of subscribers to .the Home representation scheme. Air. Alaekie will submit a report on his mission to the British markets. His Honor Judge Jones, who has been up the coast the last few days on Native Land Court business, returned to town yesterday afternoon.
