GISBORNE CLUB
The committee of the Gisborne Bowling Club met yesterday morning, when several matters of importance were discussed.
The question of the competition lor Mr. J. H. Martin’s gold medals was considered, and the draw for the* next round resulted as follows: Martin’s team v. Robertson’s, and Simson’s. team v. Corson’s. It was further decided that tho games must either be completed on Thursday or' forfeited. It was also resolved that tho pro-, posed shield match shall not take place to-morrow as arranged, v The committee intimated that as long as the weather holds good, they are in no way desirous of closing the green. As the time for the annual meeting is drawing near, the hope was expressed that members who have not yet done so should r>-av their subscriptions, in order to facilitate the work ol balancing. ' . Some discussion ' took place regarding tlie advisability of instituting a winter green, as is done in many of the larger centres. The matter was left in abeyance, however, and the meeting adjourned.
