COSMOPOLITAN CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the membersof the Cosmopolitan Club was held at • the Club last evening. Mr C. H. Ambridge, President, occupied the chair. There wore about 800 members present. The Chairman said he was pleased to see such a large attendance of members, as it showed that great interest was taken in club affairs. The report and balance-sheet showed that the club was in a most satisfactory financial condition, and that the receipts during the year had exceeded the - committee’s anticipations. r l he committee desired to thank all who had made donations of furniture to the The Chairman said that he could move the adoption of the report and balance-sheet with the greatest satisfaction. The work of the year had been an unparaleiled success. The balance-sheet presented a correct and emphatic view of the satisfactory position of the club. The committee had endeavored to run the club on the bestof lines and to keep the institution out of debt. Mr. H. Miller seconded the motion, which was carried. , Mr. L. T. Symes congratulated the club on the excellence of the balancesheet. The profits of the past year had been phenomenal, but he would like to see better use made of the social hall. He moved that honorariums be handed to the president, secretary, and stewards in recognition of the work done by them during the year. The motion was discussed at length, and on being put to the vote was carried by a large majority. The election of officers, resulted: — President, Mr. R. T. Seymour; vicepresident, air. T.
