FLOURMILLERS’ ASSOCIATION.
ACTION OF OUTSIDE MILLERS
(Pint Press Association.] DUNEDIN, June 19. It is reported that since the beginning of the month flourmillers who refused to sign the Association’s .agreement have been selling direct to bakers in large quantities below the Association tariff. Outside mills at Oamaru and Timaru are said to bo selling at--5s below Association prices. _ Son}® people predict that the Association will come to end within the next rew weeks, but others claim an agreement will ultimately be arrived at. OAMARU, June 19. Suggestions made in a Dunedin Press Association telegram that Oamaru mil s outside the Milling Association are sellin" at prices 5s below those set by the Association' would seem to lack foundation ; in fact two local nailers are now out, Clark Bros, and Ireland and Lauders both because they considered the outputs greater than they were given, chedit for by the Association, but there has been no cutting, for the reason that Oamaru flour can command the best price. It is not considered likely here by some millers that the new agreement will be adopted for a considerable time to come, as the firms now out will remain out until next season at least, owing to contracts that have been entered into.
