BURNED TO DEATH.
INQUEST ON MBS HOBSON

An inquest touching the death of Ada Emily Robson, who perished in the destruction of the Porangahau schoolhouse by fire, was held at Porangahau on Thursday. It appeared from the ' evidence ■t deceased’s hnsb-'nd saved their orb. .child, but was unable to find Mrs. Robson. Her remains were found ir: spare bedroom, iuct behind the one from which the child was rescued. She had apparent'y gone into the room with a kerosene lamp in her hand, and either fainted or accidentally dropped the lamp. Her husband was in Pm workshop, and had his attention drawn by things falling. The jury returned a verdict that deceased was burned to death, but that there was no evidence to show how the fire originated. A rider was added expressing dissatisfaction at the delay of the polio" in despatching a constable to the scene of the fire.
