RETIREMENTS AND - PROMOTIONS
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 21. Mr T. Arthur, Traffic Superintendent , who occupies a similar position for the South, Island, will retire from)the service on Superannuation at the end of this month. The Department does not propose to fill these positions. Mr C. A. Piper, District Manager at Invercargill, takes charge of the Otago and Southland section, Mr S. F. ! Wlutcombe. District Manager at Christchurch, comes to Wellington. Mr W. J. Stringleman, relieving traffic manager, succeeds Mr Whitccombe at Christchurch. Mr T. W. Brobner, district manager at Westport, assumes similar duties at Invercargill. Mr J. Ashley, district manager at Greymouth, is transferred to Westport. Mr A. Duncan. stationmastpr at Dunedin, becomes district traffic manager for Westland. These promotions have all been made according to seniority and efficiency.
