A JEWISH MINISTER
TENDERS HIS RESIGNATION. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN,. June 24. The Rev. A. T. Chodowski, who has held the position of minister of the Jewish congregation here for eleven years, tendered his resignation to-day, to take effect from the 9th September. In a letter to the president of the congregation, Mr. Chodowski says he has been engaged in the ministry for 22 years, and had not been able to make any provision for failing health or old age or lor his family during the whole of the period. He has felt the providing of kosher meat very oppressive, and it has now become almost intolerable. These and other considerations have strongly influenced him in coming to a decision. During his residence here, Mr. Chodowski has taken a keen interest in local affairs.
