NEW ZEALAND’S CONGRATULATIONS. (Tor Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 24. The Hon. J. Carrol!, Acting-Premier, received a cablegram to-day from Sir Joseph Ward, from Adelaide, stating that he has cabled as follows to the President of the South African Convention: “On behalf of the Government and people, of New Zealand, 1 desire to offer my heartiest congratulations upon the consummation of the great work of South African union. I am satisfied it marks a distinct step forward, not only in the prosperity of South Africa itself, but in the consolidation of the great Empire to which we are all proud to belong, and are so anxious to strengthen.”
