TERRIBLE DOCK ACCIDENT

A landslide in a deep trench at the new lock of the Alexandra- dock extension at Newport, Monmouthshire, buried many workmen. It is estimated that 20 have perished. Others were extricated alive from under the angles formed by the fallen timber.
