THE WELLINGTON RELIEF FUND. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, July 8. The Wellington Citizens’ Unemployed Relief Fund now amounts to about £4OO. THE POSITION IN CHRISTCHURCH CHRISTCHURCH, July 8. The Minister for Labor, replying to a suggestion of Mr. H. G. Ell, M.P., stated that he regretted that he could not at present give instructions for another party for North Island bushfelling contracts being got together in this city. Of a party of 19 men selected for the Midland railway works, 15 turned up this morning and left for the works. ACTION AT WANGANUI. WANGANUI, July 8. In response to the Borough Council’s invitation, 65 unemployed handed in their names to-day. The majority will bo employed on works which the Council has authorised for the purpose.
