HAWKE'S BAY LAND BOARD
MEETING AT NAPIER
(Special to ‘'Times.'’) NAPIER, July 9. A meeting of the Hawke, s Bay Land Board was‘'held at- Napier to-day; present, Messrs T. N. Brodrick (Commissioner), Groom, Lane, TV right, and Aekroyd. AV. Parsons applied lor an extension of timber cutting license on Ngamo forest reserve. —An extension for six months wag granted. P. M. Coin- applied for a timbercutting license on Ngamoko forest reserve.—Granted at schedule rates. The Commissioner submitted terms and conditions for the lease of two allotments, containing in all 1960 acres, in Ngamoko State forest, for which he recommended that tenders be called under a miscellaneous lease, until the land is withdrawn from forest reserve and surveyed for settlement. —The recommendation was approved. Mr. E. Lane wrote refusing to pay the rate payable on the Ist inst., until compensation for improvements, damage to fences, etc., are paid, and the rent reduced for a road taken through section I . Block 9, kaho.—After discussion, during which sympathy .was expressed for Air. Lane, in his position, the matter was left m the Commissioner’s hands for immediate attention. The following applications to transfer were approved : —H. Gambel to D. Damble and J. Pearce, section 10, A loin k>\ and Waitara; G. Whetstone to G. C. Graham, section 2, Block 14, Alatapiro; AV. Porter to W. A. D. Sutherland, section 44, Block 15. Alatapi.ro. The Board, after considering an ajv plication for 'eave to mortgage, adjourned to meet at Gisborne, on Saturday morning.
