SIR WM. LYNE ATTACKS MEMBERS FEDERAL CABINET. A CONFERENCE OF PREMIERS ARRANGED. United Press Association —Copyright MELBOURNE, July 9. Sir William Lyne imparted life to the censure debate in the Federal House by bitter personal attacks on members of the Cabinet over the fusion of parties. He concluded by demanding an increased duty on timber. He claimed that tho industry was being ruined. In the course of the censure, debate some speakers claimed that the progressive land tax in New Zealand had failed in the objects of breaking up large estates and keeping land values down. They ‘predicted a similar failure here. The debate was adjourned until Tuesday. A conference of Premiers has been arranged to take place at Melbourne on August 13. The chief subject will be the financial relations of the. States and Commonwealth, The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth will attend to give his views.
